Janelle Guerrero, owner and founder of Northwest Billing Solutions (NWBS), has a proven track record of delivering top-notch results for healthcare organizations. With over 25 years of experience in medical billing and collections and a background in business management, Janelle focuses on physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition therapy, as well as chiropractic and surgical billing.
Before establishing NWBS, Janelle served as the Director of Reimbursement for two physical therapy companies and five occupational medicine clinics in the Puget Sound region. In her first year, she decreased the company's DSO by up to 48% and increased cash flow by upwards of 12% annually.
Here, Janelle was responsible for addressing and correcting front office issues, providing training as needed. She worked closely with support staff to make sure they were current on all insurance guidelines, delivering monthly updates with a published newsletter. Janelle also provided one-on-one training with front office personnel to review processes and help troubleshoot issues.
From 2000 to 2008 Janelle held several positions at a national physical therapy company. Beginning as the Business Manager, Janelle learned about the company and policies and partnered with the clinic manager to deliver weekly financial projections, marketing, insurance verification, billing, and collections tasks.
She was promoted to Group Business Manager for exceeding expectations, working closely with the clinic directors and business managers of eight clinics to monitor and address financial concerns. Janelle worked directly with clinic managers to develop an annual budget and provide training, mentoring, and support to all the ancillary staff, ensuring accurate and timely billing, as well as account follow-up.
Janelle later headed the creation and implementation of a Regional Billing office that covered billing, account follow-up, and collections for 69 clinics in Washington, Oregon, California, and Nevada.
In 2010, Janelle decided it was time to start her own company with nothing more than confidence in her abilities and a desire to succeed and help others grow. Since founding her company, Janelle has partnered with many independent medical offices, assisting in a full range of services from billing and collection to old AR clean-up.
